'The lady began yelling threats at me and tried to drag the dog back to the car physically': A heartbreaking confrontation over a neglected dog is definitively resolved by police and animal control, ending a week-long ordeal for the dog's new owner

We will preface this story with a little PSA. If you are going to adopt a dog, be prepared for everything that comes with it. There is no reason to dump or return a dog ever, and whatever mayhem or stress that might come from adopting a dog is yours to deal with. And if the original owner in this story had known this and taken it into account we might be telling a very different story today, but alas, this is the tale we have to tell. This is the story of a woman who found a dog dumped by her home.

After taking all the correct steps including waiting seven days for the doggo to be claimed from the local shelter, she followed her heart and gave this lost pupper the home it deserved. However, just as soon as she did this, the original owner turned up, unannounced, at the rescuer's home demanding that the dog come back with them. Before long the altercation became physical, turning the event from stressful to harrowing. No one needs to go through things like this, no dog needs to be exposed to madness like this. We all deserve better and the dog deserved so much more than that.

  • Oh brother, you know, it is rather interesting how guilt can make you do all sorts of rather unhinged things. This woman likely couldn’t handle taking care of the doggo and, in a fit, dumped it somewhere. Only for her kids to have a fit over the dog being gone, and so starts the cycle of unhinged actions that led to this moment.
